Miller's mom was diagnosed with dementia three years ago and is now in end-stage hospice care. Miller, who will officially graduate in December, is unsure if her mom will live through the year so, with the help of her boss and mentor, Dr. Nikita Murry and other friends and family, they hosted an early graduation ceremony in which CMU President Bob Davies presented Miller with her diploma.
