Isabella County Republican Party's Election Night Watch Party

The Isabella County Republican Party hosts a fiesta themed election night watch party on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at their headquarters on Mission Street. Local candidates, including Jerry Neyer, Frank Engler, Lori Rogers, David Verwey and others were in attendance.  

Women's Basketball vs. Coastal Carolina

Central Michigan fell short against Coastal Carolina 65-62 on Monday, Nov. 4, at McGuirk Arena. Coastal Carolina would make a go-ahead layup with 10 seconds left in the game despite trailing by as many as 17 points in the first half. CMU outrebounded Coastal Carolina 45-33. Senior guard Jess Lawson and junior forward Demetria Prewitt led the game with 10 rebounds each. CMU's leading scorer was freshman guard Madi Morson with 13 points.

Disney Trivia

Central Michigan University students came together to have a fun night of answering Disney movie-related questions, socializing, and laughing together during Disney Trivia night, on Monday, Nov. 4, in Powers Hall room 136. Students who got the top three places in the trivia had the chance to win Disney-related prizes. 

Drag Me to the Polls

Drag Me to the Polls, a free, non-partisan drag show sponsored by the Isabella County Democratic Party and Michigan One Campaign aimed to promote voter participation and empowerment on Friday, Nov. 1 in Broadway Theatre. The event, which was hosted by Miss Moscato and Veronica Scott, featured performances, voting information and an appearance from Mount Pleasant Mayor Amy Perschbacher. 

Wrestling Intrasquad

Central Michigan held an intrasquad match on Friday, Nov. 1, at the McGuirk Arena. CMU will kick off the season on Saturday, Nov. 9, against Michigan State University. Ben Bennett is in his first year being the head coach of CMU, although he worked for 11 years under previous wrestling coach legend Tom Borrelli. 

Forced Migration & Refugees: The Case of Malawi

Pumpkins and Paintbrushes

Program Board and Central Michigan University sophomore Samayia Boyd host Pumpkins and Paintbrushes Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Student Activity Center. Students gathered to paint pumpkins, eat food and socialize. 

Murder Mystery

Celebrating Hallo-week Central Michigan program board hosts the Murder Mystery event on Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the UC Rotunda. The event was an interactive show with eight student actors performing and giving clues. Attendees worked together to find the murderer and got plenty of snacks at the popcorn bar. 

Annual Religion Program Halloween Event

Central Michigan University hosts the annual religion program Halloween event where professors in the college discuss their classes during a panel on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in Anspach Hall room 162.  They hand out prizes, candy, and play games during the event as well. 

Basketball vs Hillsdale

Central Michigan beat Hillsdale 90-62 in an exhibition game on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the McGuirk Arena. Senior guard/forward Jakobi Heady and senior guard Anthony Pritchard led the Chippewas with 18 points each. Heady also had the most rebounds on the team with 9. 

Volleyball vs Buffalo

Central Michigan's volleyball team defeated Buffalo 3-2 on Saturday, Oct. 26, in McGuirk arena. The Central Michigan volleyball team celebrated their annual autism acceptance night for the third time, including player interviews with autistic Central Michigan students. 

Vampz and Ampz

Central Michigans University's Moore Media Records put on Vampz and Ampz on Friday, Oct. 25, at the Wesley Church. The concert and costume contest featured the bands Extension Cord, Chapter IV and Lie. Over the year, MMR will put on several other concerts, including EDM and Hip-Hop featuring CMU students.  

Volleyball vs. Buffalo

Central Michigan's volleyball team hosted the University at Buffalo Thursday, Oct. 25, in McGuirk Arena and won 3-1. The Central Michigan volleyball team celebrated pride night, including personal testaments from players on what pride means for them.  

Tie-Dye and Tea

Twisting and binding fabric, attendees dye and drink cans of tea at the Tie-Dye and Tea event on Friday, Oct. 25, in Wightman Hall. Attendees had the opportunity to dye white material of shirts, scrunchies and bucket hats. Guided by instructors, participants learned dyeing techniques, experimenting with colors and patterns for unique designs.  

Field Hockey vs. Miami Ohio

Central Michigan Chippewas lost 3-1 to the Miami Ohio Redhawks on Friday, Oct. 25, at Cristy Freese Field. Freshman goalkeeper Jenna Billig set career highs in shots faced (34) and saves made (17). Central Michigan is now 3-12 overall and is on an 11-game losing streak stretching back to Sept. 7.  

Soccer vs. Miami Ohio

Central Michigan fell short against Miami Ohio on Thursday, Oct. 25, at the CMU Soccer Complex. Central Michigan lost 2-1 after a late rally faltered in the final minutes. Junior forward Lauren Walker scored CMU’s only goal and redshirt senior goalkeeper Allison LaPoint had seven saves.  

Karaoke Night

Central Michigan University Program Board hosts Karaoke Kraze, run by junior Ava Darbyshire, where students can sing whatever they want as many times as they want, Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Bovee University Center room 302.  

Football vs. Eastern Michigan

Central Michigan's football team lost to Eastern Michigan University 36-34 on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, MI. CMU had a 34-31 lead in the fourth quarter but fell short after an EMU touchdown and a point after touchdown. The loss drops CMU's records to 1-2 in Mid-American Conference play and 3-4 overall. CMU will travel to Ohio play Miami University for its next contest on Saturday, Oct. 26. 

Volleyball vs. Northern Illinois

Central Michigan University's volleyball team hosted Northern Illinois University Friday, Oct. 18, in McGuirk Arena. Central Michigan won 3-0. Junior outside hitter Natalia Rejment led the game with 11 kills. 

Soccer vs. Bowling Green

The Central Michigan Soccer team beat Bowling Green on Friday, Oct. 18, at the CMU Soccer Complex with a score of 2-1. A late goal by Lauren Walker in the 86th minute was the game-winner. CMU moved to 5-6-4 overall and 3-2-3 in MAC play.
