GALLERY: Dogs and Donuts

The Office of LGBTQ Services and Gender Equity Programs hosts a 'Dogs and Donuts' event, Tuesday, April 4 at the Center for Student Inclusion and Diversity in the Bovee University Center. Two therapy dogs were brought in for students to socialize, pet the dogs, and eat donuts.

GALLERY: Baseball vs Bowling Green

CMU's baseball team fell to Bowling Green 3-12 Friday, March 31 in Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. After CMU took the lead with one run in the fourth, Bowling Green outscored CMU in each inning after. CMU is now 4-3 in conference play and 13-11 overall.

As we emerge from the dreary days of the pandemic, campus is alive every hour of the day. Central Michigan Life, Grand Central Magazine and other students partnered together to cover the action every single hour from 12 p.m on March 19 to 12 p.m on March 20. From early morning coffee shop openings to dancing in the annual Celebrating Life Pow Wow to midnight police ride alongs, we took over campus to show you what students, faculty and staff are up to around the clock. GALLERY: Softball vs Kent State

CMU's softball team swept Kent State in their home opener and doubleheader Tuesday, March 28 at Margo Jonker Stadium. CMU won the first game 3-0 and the second game 10-2. The wins make the team 2-3 in conference play and 12-16 overall.

GALLERY: Lacrosse vs Marquette

CMU Lacrosse fell 17-9 to Marquette on Sunday, March 26 at the CMU Lacrosse Complex. Their Morgan's Message game was played in honor of Morgan Rodgers, a former Duke women's lacrosse player, who died by suicide in 2019 from a battle with mental health.

GALLERY: Cultural Festival

The Multicultural Academic Student Services hosts an Intercultural Unity Festival with performances and food to bring people of the community together, Saturday, March 25, at the Kulhavi Events Center. The festival was to recognize underrepresented students on campus, increase cultural awareness and celebrate different cultures. 

GALLERY: Baseball Vs Kent State

The CMU's baseball team split a doubleheader against Kent State, Friday, March 24 in Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium. CMU lost the first game 3-4 and played 12 innings. CMU won the second game against Kent State 11-4. The team is now 12-9 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

Multicultural Academic Student Services hosts a Cultural Crafts event in honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Friday, March 24, in the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion. Students had the opportunity to learn how to make three different crafts.

Multicultural Academic Student Services hosts Crash Course: Religion Throughout Asian History Wednesday, March 22 in Pearce Hall. The five panel members spoke about their experiences with their religion, which included Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam.

GALLERY: 34th Annual Celebrating Life Pow Wow

CMU Hosts the 34th Annual Celebrating Life Pow Wow, bringing members of the Aanishnabe nation from all around the country and Canada to campus and inviting members of the CMU and Mount Pleasant communities to witness native culture March 18-19, in McGuirk Arena. The Pow Wow consisted of many different dance contests, a drum contest, native vendors, and food for all attendees to see.

GALLERY: Henna Night

Multicultural Academic Student Services hosts a Henna Night Thursday, March 16 in Bovee University Center. Attendees learned about the history and significance of henna and had the chance to receive a design from from a henna artist or practice on themselves. 

GALLERY: Pro Day 2023

The CMU football team held Pro Day on Wednesday, March 15, in the Indoor Athletic Complex. CMU football players and players from surrounding schools planning to enter the NFL Draft got the chance to perform in front of NFL scouts.

The Organization of Asian Leaders hosts Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Keynote: Dr. Hajime Otani Wednesday, March 15 in the Bovee University Center. Dr. Hajime Otani received his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia and began at Central Michigan University in 1989.  

GALLERY: Pi Day 2023

CMU students, faculty and family celebrate Pi Day on Tuesday, March 14 in Pearce Hall. The celebration featured Pi-oriented games, snacks and a Pi recitation contest.

GALLERY: Michigan Horse Expo

The Michigan Horse Council Board of Directors hosts the 40th annual Michigan Horse Expo at Michigan State University, Saturday, March 10, in MSU Pavilion. The event runs from Friday, March 10th through Sunday, March 12th, The Michigan Horse Expo is the main fundraising event for the Michigan Horse Council.

Dow Gardens in Midland is celebrating spring by the return of their annual Butterflies in Bloom exhibit. With a purchase of tickets, visitors can observe thousands of butterflies from around the world daily from March 3 to April 16. For more information, visit Dow Gardens' website.
