Central Michigan's women's basketball team defeated Concordia-Ann Arbor 80-57 in their home opener, Tuesday, Nov. 14 in McGuirk Arena. The win was head coach Kristin Haynie's first career win as a head coach and the team's first win of the season. CMU's record moved to 1-2.
CMU TAKE CARE and the Counseling Center hosts De-stress November, Friday, Nov. 10, in UC Terrace. The event brought in therapy dogs from Pause for Paws, and additionally allowed students to participate in creating coloring pages and writing letters of gratitude.

The Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium in Park Library holds SWK 318 presentation on Missing and Murdered Indigenous People from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m Friday Nov. 10. The National American Indian Heritage Month event was vital for CMU students to attend and had an impactful message about the shared land CMU stands on.
Central Michigan's volleyball team faced off against Ohio on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11 in McGuirk Arena. The team fell to Ohio on both days, 3-0. After the Saturday game, Devon Bright, Austyn DeWeese, Kayla Brandon, and Elly Medendorp were honored during the Senior Night festivities. The loss brought the team's record to 8-9 in Mid-American Conference play and 14-15 overall.
Central Michigan's wrestling team fell to No. 21 ranked Oklahoma in their season opener, Thursday, Nov. 9 in McGuirk Arena. Graduate student Corbin Munson, redshirt senior Johnny Lovett and redshirt senior Alex Cramer recorded wins for CMU. The team will travel to Lansing on Nov. 11 for the Michigan State Open.
Constitution Day speaker Rong Kohtz shares her presentation The Constitutional is Personal, Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Sarah and Daniel Opperman Auditorium. The presentation gave insight into personal stories of the Plaintiffs in the United States Supreme Court.
CMU Native American Indigenous Student Organization and the Office of Indigenous Affairs host Shii Shii Be Anishinaabemowin Bingo as part of Native American Heritage Month events Wednesday, Nov. 8 in the Biosciences Building. Participants played bingo using words from the Anishinaabemowin language and competed for prizes sponsored by Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort.
Central Michigan University Chippewas again fell to their rivals Western Michigan Broncos on Nov. 7, in Waldo Stadium, Kalamazoo. CMU scored 3 touchdowns in the third quarter, ending the quarter with 28-21; however, the Broncos ended the fourth quarter 38-28.
Central Michigan's football team beat Northern Illinois 37-31 on its Fright Night/Halloween celebration, Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jase Bauer was the game's passing leader with nine passes for 116 yards. Junior running back Marion Lukes was the rushing leader, rushing 202 yards with one touchdown. Junior wide receiver Jesse Prewitt III was the game's receiving leader with three receptions totalling 49 yards. Junior defensive back Trey Jones led the defense with eight tackles. The win brings CMU's records to 3-2 in MAC conference play and 5-4 overall.
Central Michigan's volleyball team swept Miami (Ohio) 3-0 during its Dig Pink event, Saturday, Oct. 28 in McGuirk Arena. CMU won the first set 25-23, the second set 25-20 and the third set 25-12. The win brought CMU's record to 6-7 in MAC Conference play and 12-13 overall.
Alpha Psi Omega presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show Oct. 26-28 at the Broadway Theatre. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 film which explores themes of gender expression and identity. Alpha Psi Omega puts on the show annually and it is a popular Halloween event in Mt. Pleasant.
The Annual Legends of the Dark came back to CMU's campus for its 28th year on Oct. 28. The tour explores the many urban legends that are on CMU's campus after the sun sets. The legends are portrayed by scare actors who are volunteers.
Central Michigan's volleyball team beat Bowling Green 3-2, Friday, Oct. 27, in McGuirk Arena. CMU had a total of 52 kills. CMU sophomore outside hitter Lauren Schrock recorded the most kills with 18 kills. Sophomore setter Claire Ammeraal led with 39 assists and junior opposite Krystina Kasson led the way with four blocks.
The Office of Educator Preparation Programs hosts an Educating for Equity Series open to all future teachers, Friday, Oct. 27, in the Education and Human Services building. Students had the opportunity to discuss and share their thoughts on the concept equity in an educational setting.
Clarke Historical Library hosts Catherine Cangany, Executive Director of the Jewish Historical Society of Michigan to speak as part of their speaker series Thursday, Oct. 26 in Opperman Auditorium. Cangany spoke about how the rising prices of kosher meat in Detroit sparked a boycott organized by Jewish women in 1910.
CMU's Department of Philosophy, Anthropology and Religion hosts the Religion Program's 10th Annual Halloween Event Wednesday, Oct. 25 in Opperman Auditorium. Professors Guy Newland, Ari Berk, Matthew Katz and Kelly Murphy each shared short stories and talks on various Halloween related topics. Dr. Laurel Zwissler hosted the event and said its goal is to show that the academic study of religion is interesting and relevant.
Central Sustainability hosts a sustainability walking tour Wednesday, Oct. 25 across the campus of Central Michigan University starting at the Bovee University Center. This was a tour to teach people about sustainability around campus and was the last event of Campus Sustainability Month.
Central Michigan Field Hockey team lost their final home game of the season to the University of Michigan at the Pink Out game, Sunday, Oct. 22, in Cristy Freese Field. CMU senior goalkeeper Katie Maxim had a total of five saves in the game and freshman back Klara Mikulaskova had one defensive save. The final score was 0-11.
