Welcome Weekend 2015
With the start of classes just around the corner, thousands of students and visitors participated in welcome weekend celebrations during the last days of August. More police than ever before patrolled Main Street, a popular party venue, with a “zero tolerance policy.” Police were seen clearing the street and sidewalks as early as 11:30 p.m. using whistles and lights. Nearly 200 people were cited or arrested through out the weekend, with the most popular citation being open intoxication.
