Indigenous Peoples' Day Event
Celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day, Mid Michigan College in partnership with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe presents the Indigenous Peoples' Day event on Monday, Oct. 14, at Mid Michigan College Mount Pleasant Community Room. The event surrounded cultural traditions by having representatives of the Tribal Council, and keynote speaker Lisa Kennedy (Waagosh-Kwe). After hearing about cultural traditions, attendees got the opportunity to participate in the splinting of black ash wood and weaving it.
