High waters at the Chippewa River
The Chippewa River experienced high waters Tuesday through Wednesday, July 10. Heavy rainfall was caused by Hurricane Beryl, which hit the Gulf Coast and made landfall in Texas Monday. The National Weather Service station in Alma recorded a half-inch of rain Tuesday night alone, and the forecast for the coming weekend calls for showers and thunderstorms nightly through Monday.
