Baseball vs Bowling Green Doubleheader
The Central Michigan baseball team lost both games against Bowling Green during their doubleheader at Keiltiz Field at Theunissen Stadium, on Friday, March 28, 2025. In the first game, CMU found themselves in the hole down seven runs early. CMU would get two runs in the fourth and three in the sixth to come within two. However, the comeback would fall short and CMU would lose 7-5. Central Michigan freshman infielder/pitcher Cayden Smith and junior infielder Aaron Piasecki each recorded three hits in the contest. The next game started slowly as the Chippewas couldn't find a way to get on base. Bowling Green freshman starting pitcher Carrson Sova was in complete control, striking out eight and allowing three hits through six innings of work. Central Michigan redshirt junior pitcher/infielder/outfielder AJ Kostic gave up four runs in 4.2 innings. In relief redshirt junior pitcher Liam Stumpf allowed no runs through 4.1 innings. CMU would not go down easy, scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth. Down by one run in the ninth CMU couldn't capitalize with a runner on first and lost 4-3.
