'Snow White' and the extremely disappointing remake

Disney live-action revival lacks the kiss of true love

"Snow White" (2025) is the new Disney live action remake in theaters, much to the dismay of many Disney fans.

The film follows Snow White, played by Rachel Zelger ("Y2K"), as she goes up against the Evil Queen. This time around the Queen is played by Gal Gadot ("Wonder Woman"). With the help of the Seven Dwarfs and Prince Charming, Snow must take back her kingdom by force.

With no mercy, I hated almost everything about this movie. First off, Zelger does a fine job with what she is given, but it's not enough to work with in terms of character depth. Due to this, Snow White feels flat as a character and protagonist. There isn't a personal reason why she cares about her kingdom and why she needs to save it.

Gadot is also terrible in this movie. She feels like a talking wall, as she barely emotes and doesn't do anything unique with the role to make it her own.

The Seven Dwarfs look absolutely atrocious. I hated how they looked and sounded. They were chunky, ugly, and were the mistakes of CGI creation. They may be worse than the sin that was Flounder's design in the live action remake of "The Little Mermaid".

This feature is filmed in a strange golden light that makes everything look fake and offbeat. It tries too much to be like the cartoon, rather than standing on its own two feet with its own interpretation of the story.

This movie is also more boring than watching a tennis match between two seniors. The film has no substance or direction, and I fell asleep a total of three times, only to wake and find the torture continuing in front of me.

Overall, skip this movie. Don't even rent or stream it. Don't even acknowledge this mistake in cinema. This movie gets a 1/10 from me.
