"Captain America: Brave New World" is the newest Marvel movie to hit the market. The film follows the events of Sam Wilson's (Anthony Mackie) adventures in the Disney+ Show Falcon and Winter Soldier.

Sam struggles with the new role of Captain America as the world around him is changing at a rapid pace. Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford) is now the new president of the United States and Isaiah Bradley, Sam's new mentor, is arrested for an assignation attempt of Ross. With the world reshuffling their cards and time running out for Sam's mentor, he sets off on a globe trotting adventure to find the culprit and bring him to justice.

I was really excited to see this movie. Boy, did it bum me out to find out this movie is one of the most mediocre pieces of media Disney has ever put out.

No shade thrown to Anthony Mackie's performance as I thought he was great as Captain America. He's really developed his persona as his own Captain America while still respecting what Steve left behind.

Harrison Ford was also great as President Ross and did a great job with the Red Hulk motion capture. He seemed like he was having a lot of fun in the role.

Where to begin with the negatives? The movie was just straight boring to me. There's a lot of walking and talking and restricting Sam from doing superhero stuff, which created a lack of interest as a lot of the problems presented in the movie could have been solved if they had listened to Sam and it really irritated me.

I also did not like the Danny Ramirez version of Joaquin Torres (The Falcon). His costume is excellent but the character himself would not shut up. He had way too many throw away lines and was treated like a joke.

(SPOILER) Even when he almost dies in a flight accident, I didn't feel anything because I was just satisfied the character wasn't talking anymore and taking away important screen time for Sam. I really wanted to like him but his lines were atrociously unfunny.

The CGI, besides Red Hulk, looked just awful too. I could tell there were five versions of this movie after the hell of "reshoots" took place. This film had a staggering amount of five separate reshoot schedules in order to put together this Frankenstein of a film together.

Overall, I really wished Marvel would have cancelled this movie and put the funds towards other important projects that progress the MCU forward, rather than hinder its success. What a dissapointing slap in the face this was.

The movie is a 5/10 for me, and if you really like Sam's Captain America and Harrison Ford, then I suggest you stream it when it releases on Disney+ in the coming months instead of going to theaters.
