Take Your Companion To See Theaters Newest Sci-Fi Thriller
Companion is here to serve you a meal you won't forget

Iris (Sophie Thatcher) and Josh (Jack Quaid) find their weekend takes more than a few unexpected turns in the new thriller 'Companion.'
"Companion" is a good movie that delivers a convincing message about the dangers of A.I. and robots. Iris (Sophie Thatcher), and Josh (Jack Quaid) are on a weekend getaway at a beach house with a couple of Josh's friends.
When someone is discovered murdered on the beach and Iris notices Josh acting strange, things go awry and Iris is forced into a chase for survival.
Companion is a difficult movie to review because of the big twist that happens early into the film. I don't want to spoil what happens so I'm going to give the best review I can while also being vague. I would also heavily advise avoiding the trailer for this movie, as going in blind makes for the best viewing experience.
Thatcher is an absolute rock star. Her performance was enthralling to watch and had me at the edge of my seat.
Quaid also performed great, as he was a perfect choice to play a twitchy, on-edge boyfriend. I will also say Lukas Gage and Harvey Gullién had amazing chemistry as a couple, and their romance was really touching and well performed.
The directing in this movie is solid. Each scene looks like it was directed with passion and care, though I will say it's mostly still shots and the camera doesn't have too many dynamic positions. I also really liked the soundtrack. Anything with the band Book Of Love gets a thumbs up from me!
I didn't have many negatives, but I do feel sorry for anyone who watched the second trailer. The marketing for this movie was an absolute disaster and makes it pointless for those who wanted to see the film to go see it. In terms of the movie itself, I would have liked more backstory on Iris, to help flesh out her relationship with Josh. After the twist is revealed, the movie is also a little predictable.
Overall this is a solid movie with a cast that gives it their all and plot. I highly recommend that you seek this movie out, if you haven't been spoiled. The film gets a solid 8/10 from me.
