Five CMU volleyball players earn All-MAC honors
With the postseason right around the corner for the Central Michigan volleyball team, the Mid-American Conference acknowledged some of the standout players from this year’s squad.
Junior setter Allie Korba earned setter of the year and was named to the All-MAC first team. Korba finished the year with 11 double-doubles, serving up 1,086 assists which ranks fourth in the MAC, along with 250 digs.
Junior outside hitter Natalia Rejment was named to the All-MAC first team. Rejment finished her 2024 campaign with 12 double-doubles, leading the team in kills with 318, and service aces with 34. She was also a big contributor on the defensive side with 369 digs and 42 blocks.
Redshirt junior middle blocker/outside hitter Abby Olin was named to the All-MAC second team. The second-year transfer from Michigan State had quite the year, doubling a majority of her stat lines from last season. She accounted for 295 kills, hitting at .363 which ranked fourth in the MAC.
She also led the team in blocks with 109, ranking ninth in the MAC.
Freshman middle blocker Grace Thomas was named to the All-MAC second team and the All-Freshman team. The freshman phenom totaled 230 kills on a .330 hitting percentage which was good enough for eighth in the MAC. She was also a force above the net, racking up 98 blocks on the season.
Freshman libero Hannah Langton was named to the All-Freshman team. As the backbone of the defense, Langton finished her first year with 502 digs, ranking fourth in the MAC. She also posed a big threat from behind the service line with 32 service aces on the season.
The Chippewas hope to finish their impressive season holding the championship trophy on Sunday. They must first take care of business against either Ball State or Toledo at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday in the semifinals of the MAC tournament.
