CRIME LOG: CMUPD handles assault, arrest, driving under intoxication

The following incidents were among those handled by Central Michigan University Police Department from Nov 1. to Nov. 6:

Nov.1

At 3:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to Herrig Hall on the report of a possible assault. The victim, a 20-year-old male, said a 19-year-old female in a dating relationship with him had hit him 10 to 12 times. He admitted to pushing her to the ground after she hit him. There were no injuries and the report was submitted to the prosecutor’s office for review.

CMUPD stopped a 22-year-old male because he had no insurance. He was cited for driving with a suspended license and no insurance. The vehicle was towed and he was released.

Nov. 2

At 5:45 p.m, CMUPD were called to assist the Sheriff’s Department to help find a suspect who had caused bodily harm off-campus. Officers located the 22-year-old female near Troutman Hall, visiting a resident. The suspect was taken to jail without incident.

CMUPD received a report at 11:30 p.m. that a 19-year-old female was trying to fight with staff at Wayside. She was kicked out and had bitten an employee. CMUPD arrived and found that she appeared intoxicated. She was taken to jail for disorderly conduct.

Nov. 6

At 5:45 a.m. CMUPD were dispatched for a vehicle trying to get out of a ditch. The 53-year-old driver showed signs of intoxication. He said he was taking multiple medications and was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs. He was taken to jail.

At 6:50 p.m. a resident of Towers reported a sextortion incident. Someone threatened to send inappropriate pictures of him to friends. CMUPD have no suspects at this time.
