The Central Michigan Women's Soccer went down to Fort Worth, Texas to take on Texas Christian University on Thursday where it fell to the Horned Frogs, 3-0.

The Chippewas fall to 1-2 on the season.

“It shows strengths and weakness, things I can build off and make better during practice and when MAC play rolls around,” head coach Jeremy Groves said about facing tougher competition.

The Horned Frogs started the scoring early as five minutes in with sophomore defender Bella Diorio putting home a goal on a semi breakaway to give TCU a 1-0 advantage.

At the 16-minute mark of the first half, TCU extended its lead on a corner kick play off a clearance by the Chippewas.

Central Michigan could muster one shot on goal during the first half as the Horned Frogs went into the locker room up 2-0.

Coming out of the locker room, the Chippewas had some jump in their step, but TCU kept to its game and nearly made the game 3-0 as a shot went off CMU goal keeper Allison LaPoint’s gloves and hit the post.

However, a few minutes later, Diorio netted her second goal of the game. That would prove to be the final score as TCU wins 3-0 at home.

Central Michigan will be on the road again when they face off with the 14th ranked team in the country when they face off with Texas in Austin on Sunday.
