What to do during CMU Homecoming?
Back home to classrooms, sports fields and streets of Mount Pleasant: Central Michigan University opens its doors to students, family, friends and alumni.
Here are some events that are held during the CMU Homecoming week, according to Alumni Relations website.
Thursday, Oct. 12
The Print-A-Thon will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Room 148 of Wightman Hall. Students can make relief prints and trade with other artists. Supplies, snacks and a collage-making station will be provided. Attendees will make 15 prints and can submit them for trade.
Friday, Oct. 13
CMU vs. Ohio State hockey game starts at 2:00 p.m. on Christy Freese Field.
The Rock Rally will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Plachta Auditorium. A lip sync and dance competition will be available for students to win the Gold Cup Trophy. It will also include the announcement of the Gold Ambassador for 2023.
Dance Party takes place at 10 p.m. in the Multi-Activity Center (MAC) Gym.
Saturday, Oct. 14
The Special Olympics Michigan 5K race begins at 8 a.m. at Finch Fieldhouse and goes through campus.
The Homecoming parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Parking Lot 22 and goes through campus and downtown Mount Pleasant.
Tailgating and tailgate lots open at 11:30 a.m.
CMU vs. Akron Homecoming game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Fans are encouraged to wear gold clothes for the Gold-Out game.
Sunday, Oct. 15
CMU Softball has a fall scrimmage against SVSU at noon in Margo Jonker Stadium.
CMU Soccer plays Akron at 1 p.m. at the Central Michigan University Soccer and Lacrosse Complex.
Throughout the weekend, several Alumni events will be organized by Alumni Relations and more events will be held for students and visitors on campus.
