Sada Baby, YN Jay and other Michigan rappers will perform at 7 p.m. on Feb. 3 at Central Michigan University's Finch Fieldhouse for the first Michigan Made College Tour.

Presented by Truu Colors Entertainment, the Michigan Made College Tour allows up-and-coming Michigan artists and college students to connect through music. Throughout the month, they will be traveling to and performing at eight universities in Michigan, starting with CMU this Friday.

“I wanted to bridge that gap and give some up-and-coming artists an opportunity to pretty much perform in front of a decent crowd,” Truu Colors Entertainment owner Nick LaVelle said. “I've never seen anyone do a Michigan college tour, where they curated a bunch of artists and put them on the same ticket and put on a show for the students.”

Born in Detroit, Sada Baby, who is perhaps best known for his 2020 song “Whole Lotta Choppas,” which was part of a viral TikTok trend and featured Nicki Minaj on the remix. He first gained recognition in 2018 with his song “Bloxk Party” featuring fellow Detroit Rapper Drego.

YN Jay is a Flint-born rapper who first debuted in 2019 with his mixtape "MVP". He is best known for his contributions on songs with Lil Yachty, Sada Baby and other various Flint and Detroit rappers.

“We did a poll at most universities to see which artists students wanted,” LaVelle said. “I ended up contacting different universities and different administrations and explaining it to them and asking them for dates, putting together a timeline, trying to correlate it and add everything up.

“[The universities] kind of lined it all up together so it all meshed well.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online.
