What to expect from this week's Board of Trustees meetings
This week, the Central Michigan University Board of Trustees will meet to discuss academics and finances.
According to CMU's website, the board will hold committee meetings from 1:30 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 15, related to different parts of campus life. The board's formal session will start at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 16, which will include a recap of the committee meetings and appointing a new director of the CMU Research Corporation.
All meetings will be in the President's Conference Room in the Bovee University Center. A livestream option is also available to watch the sessions.
Here is the schedule for the Feb. 15 committee meetings:
- Academic and Student Affairs Committee: 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
- Finance and Facilities Committee: 3 to 3:30 p.m.
- Trustees-Faculty Liaison Committee: 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
- Trustees-Student Liaison Committee: 5 to 6 p.m.
According to the meeting agendas, the Academic and Student Affairs Committee will hear an update on CMU enrollment and a presentation about Central Sustainability from faculty and students.
The Finance and Facilities Committee will discuss updates on Facilities Management projects. The Trustees-Faculty Liaison Committee will see a presentation about CMU's Certificate in Drone Use.
Lastly, the Trustees-Student Liaison Committee will hear reports from Student Affairs, The Student Government Association, Residence Hall Association and Program Board.
At the Feb. 16 formal meeting, there will be two opportunities to address the board, both of which require filling out a request form before the session. At the beginning, attendees can address the board about anything on the agenda. Near the end of the meeting, attendees can comment on anything else.
