Norris earns MAC Player of the Week honors
After putting up back-to-back double-doubles to open Mid-American Conference play, junior center Rochelle Norris was named MAC Player of the Week.
In the two-game stretch, Norris secured a combine total of 42 points and 25 rebounds while going 18-for-20 from the field (.900).
The Chippewas opened up the conference season with a 79-62 win against Northern Illinois where Norris led the team with 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.
Norris continued her performance into Saturday when CMU lost to Buffalo, 70-63. Even with the loss, Norris put up a career-high 25 points and 14 rebounds. Norris went 12-for-13 from the field.
The Chippewas are 1-1 in conference play and 3-10 overall following their opening week of the conference season.
CMU travels to Ohio to take on Bowling Green on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
