Matt Stencel earns MAC Wrestler of the Year

Senior Matt Stencel was named Mid American Confrence Wrestler of the Year, adding to his already legendary history as a Chippewa. 

Stencel. a graduate student from Oregon, Ohio, has been with the Chippewas wrestling squad for six years. He began by redshirting in the 2016-2017 season. 

Wrestling at 285 pounds, Stencel ends his career with an impressive 133-36 record. With that comes a record five MAC championships. He's also a two-time all American. He holds the record for most pins in CMU history with 74 in his career. 

Stencel ended this season with a 20-6 record and his fifth MAC championship under his belt. He leaves behind CMU ranked 10th in program history with a .787 win percentage.
