CMU lacrosse falls at Louisville
CMU’s women’s lacrosse team took its second straight loss to Louisville with the final score being 18-7.
The issues remained the same as CMU struggled in the turnover category having nine turnovers in the first half. CMU also, struggled getting shots on goal as the Chippewas had six shots on goal in the first half, which was less than the eight shots on goal Louisville had in the first quarter.
Facing a 13-4 deficit at halftime, CMU struggled in the third quarter only having two shots on goal and zero goals, while Louisville added three goals of its own.
CMU bounced back in the fourth quarter with three goals as Maggie Diebold, Audrey Whiteside and Makenna Huhn each found the net.
Diebold and Huhn both scored two goals in the game, accounting for four of CMU’s seven.
In the end, CMU had a hard time stopping Louisville’s Allegra Catalano and Nicole Peroni, who each scored 4 goals.
CMU will travel back home as they look to bounce back from back-to-back losses when they host Youngstown State University Feb. 23 in their home opener
