CMU football sets 2026 matchup with Miami
Central Michigan football has added another marquee opponent to its future schedule.
The Chippewas have signed a deal to play Miami (Fla.) in 2026 at Hard Rock Stadium, a game that will come with a $1.3 million payout according to a report from The Detroit News. This matchup will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools, with the Hurricanes winning the first 17-12 in 2019.
The game is scheduled to be played on Sept. 26, 2026.
"We remain focused on playing in areas of the country that have a strong CMU connection, whether it is through alumni development or recruiting future student athletes," said athletic director Amy Folan in a statement. "This is also an opportunity for our program to play in one of the best venues in the world, a place that has hosted the Super Bowl and other marquee events."
The Chippewas currently have non-conference games scheduled at New Mexico State (Sept. 5) and home against Wyoming (Sept. 19) for the 2026 season.
