For the first time in the month of October, Central Michigan soccer was unable to secure the victory, snapping its four-game winning streak.

The Chippewas fell to Toledo 1-0 Thursday, dropping their sixth one-goal game of the year.

"We had enough chances to win the game, and unfortunately it's that point of the season where everything counts," said CMU head coach Jeremy Groves. "At times I thought we could've used the ball a bit better, at times we were to direct and we should've switched the point of attack."

CMU is ow 7-6 overall and  Toledo Rockets (9-4-2)

How it Happened

The Chippewas were in attack mode for the entirety of the first half, totaling six total shots, two on target and one corner kick. Sophomore Jaelyn Dobrowolski pushed the offense with a shot that was saved at the top left of the net by Toledo sophomore Emma Boutorwick. The goalkeeper matchup was top-tier Mid-American Conference action. Boutorwick came into the game leading the MAC in goal against average, second in shutouts and second in saves, behind CMU sophomore Allison LaPointe.

Within the first four minutes of the second half Toledo was able to score the first and only goal of the game off a deflection. CMU was able to push the ball onto the opposing side, but could not create the opportunities they had in the first. The Chippewas pushed late, but failed to put the ball in the back of the net.
