The following incidents were among those handled by Central Michigan University Police Department from Oct. 3 to Oct. 9. We were unable to get in contact with the Mount Pleasant Police Department for this period of time.

Oct. 3

An MPPD officer pulled over a 51-year-old Fenton man at 12:19 a.m. at the intersection of E. Michigan St. and S. Mission St. because he was driving on the centerline. Once he was pulled over the man told the officer had been drinking a lot earlier that evening. He had a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.11 and was lodged in Isabella County Jail for drunk driving.

MPPD officers received a report about an overdose at 9:44 a.m. on Briarwood Drive. Officers found a 32-year-old woman who had injected heroin into her arm. The officers gave the woman Narcan at the scene and she was transported to the hospital where she recovered.

CMUPD assisted the Michigan State Police at midnight from the CMUPD office. The state police needed data taken off of a cell phone. All evidence has been given to the state police.

Oct. 6

CMUPD was called at 1:38 p.m. to the Market at Kessler to investigate stolen items. Police reviewed security footage and saw a 17-year-old man steal a bag of Doritos and a jar of queso dip. He was found and brought back to the market where he paid for the items. The Market at Kessler did not press charges.

Oct. 7

An MPPD officer pulled over a 19-year-old Riley woman at 1:19 a.m. on W. Preston St. after she was driving over the centerline. She told the officer she had a beer a little over three hours before being pulled over. She had a BAC of 0.13 and was lodged in Isabella County Jail.

Oct. 8

A 20-year-old woman told CMUPD at 11 p.m. on W. Bellows St that she was receiving weird text messages claiming to be from Wayside. This is the same woman from the Sept. 23 incident. Her roommate, also a 20-year-old woman is now receiving the same texts messages. Wayside is not involved and CMUPD still has no leads.

An MPPD officer pulled over a truck at 12:23 a.m. at the intersection of W. Locust St. and S. Washington St because it did not have taillights and was driving over the centerline. The driver, a 47-year-old man, admitted to drinking three beers earlier that evening but refused to take a breathalyzer test. He was arrested for drunk driving and lodged in Isabella County Jail where he took a breath test. His BAC was 0.16.

Oct. 9

CMUPD received a complaint at 2:30 a.m. from Beddow Hall. An 18-year-old woman told officers she rejected a request from Snapchat from a currently unknown person. The individual went to the woman's dorm room upset with the rejection, however, she was not in her dorm room when they got there. They were gone when the police arrived. The woman told officers she was made uncomfortable with the situation. CMUPD does not have a lead on the situation.
