Stabbing victim dies in hospital, suspect arraigned in federal court
One of the two stabbing victims from an incident that occurred yesterday morning at a Mount Pleasant Apartment has died, police said in a Nov. 17 press release.
Nangonhs Massey, 21, died from her injuries after reportedly being stabbed by 20-year-old Kayden Elizabeth Gilbert. The other victim, a 22-year-old man, remains hospitalized and is in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Gilbert has been arraigned in Federal Court on first-degree murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault causing serious bodily injury.
Police reported to the South Oak Street apartment complex at about 2:30 a.m. Gilbert was quickly taken into custody and lodged in the Isabella County Jail.
Police say the case is still ongoing.
