Junior Drayton Law (#80) celebrates with his CMU teammates during the Chippewas' 30-27 win over Ohio at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Nov. 4, 2020.

With the clock at zeroes, the 3,200-square-foot scoreboard in Kelly/Shorts Stadium signified a 30-27 win for CMU over Ohio on Wednesday.

The Chippewas (1-0) utilized a balanced offensive attack to come from behind in the second half to seal a fifth straight victory over the Bobcats (0-1).

Here is a deeper look into the numbers of the Chippewas' season-opening victory over Ohio:

0  Turnovers for the Chippewas. Last season, there were only two games where CMU did not turn the ball over -- New Mexico State (Oct. 12) and Toledo (Nov. 29).

5  Sacks by the Chippewa defense, including three by senior Troy Hairston II, are the most by the CMU defense since registering six against Buffalo during the 2018 season.

6  Completions of 20 or more yards by the Bobcats. All six long completions occurred in the game’s first three quarters and were completed by freshman quarterback Kurtis Rourke.

7  Consecutive Chippewa victories at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. CMU’s last home loss came on Nov. 10, 2018, a 24-13 loss to BGSU.

8  Combined receptions by senior wide receiver JaCorey Sullivan and junior Kalil Pimpleton. The duo, which accumulated 139 catches for 1,702 yards and nine touchdowns for CMU in 2019, was part of the Muskegon High football team that made three Division 3 championship game appearances.

9  Years since Ohio last defeated CMU. The Bobcats earned a 43-28 victory at Kelly/Shorts Stadium en-route to a Mid-American Conference East Division championship in 2011. The Bobcats fell to Northern Illinois in the title game.

11  The number of consecutive conference losses by Ohio within 7 points. The Bobcats fell 62-24 at Bowling Green during the 2015 campaign.

22  Yards for Eaton Rapids freshman Marshall Meeder's eventual game winning field goal with 9:05 to play in the fourth quarter.

28  Carries for junior running back Kobe Lewis. The Americus, Georgia native averaged 4.0 yards per carry and finished with a long of 11.
