Former Mount Pleasant Public Schools swim coach David Alsager is scheduled to appear in Isabella County Trial Court next month after being accused of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Alsager, 66, will appear in an Oct. 1 settlement conference. He is charged with one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a 12-year-old girl. Thomas Anthony is his defense attorney.

He coached the Mount Pleasant High School girls' swimming and diving team for more than a decade and the Pacers Swim Club.

According to a press release from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Alsager was arrested on Feb. 26 after police received a complaint about his behavior on Nov. 30.

Because of a conflict of interest issue within the Isabella County Prosecuting Attorney Office, this case was reassigned to Mecosta County Prosecuting Attorney office. This means that the case will still be held in the Isabella County courts, but a visiting prosecuting attorney will represent the state.
