Program Board to host virtual Diplo concert Aug. 14
For its first virtual event of the semester, Central Michigan University's Program Board will host a virtual concert featuring American DJ Diplo.
The concert will start at 7 p.m. Aug.14 over livestream. Students are required to register in advance on Engage Central and will receive a link to the concert on the day of the event.
According to Program Board President Brett Houle, there will be a Q&A after the concert.
"This is such a brand new thing that we are not even 100 percent sure what to expect ourselves," Houle said. "We have done a lot of working with agents, hearing feedback on their digital events and have heard a lot of positive feedback. So I think you'd expect an interactive show with a pretty well known person."
Houle said that although it is obviously not the same experience as in-person concert, the board is doing everything in its power to make it the best possible event.
“Normally, Program Board would be doing events throughout Welcome Weekend in person and making sure it is a lively and fun,” Houle said. “The main goal of Program Board is to make inclusive and safe events for everyone at CMU and we still wanted to provide that.“
Program Board will be hosting a virtual "The Office" themed trivia night at 7 p.m. on Aug. 15. Students can attend the event to join via WebEx.
The events are both free and open to all CMU students and community members.
