Students will be welcomed back from spring break with a more reliable Wi-Fi connection, according to an email from the Office of Information Technology.

Beginning March 9, two new wireless networks, CMICH and CMICH-GUEST, will make it easier to connect devices to the internet

The Office of Information Technology said the networks will improve Wi-Fi reliability, be compatible with modern smart devices, and simplify guest registration for visiting friends and family.

In addition, the OIT is launching an invisible network for devices that do not support enterprise wireless security. The CMICH-DEVICE network is intended for devices that are unable to connect to the primary CMICH network. This most commonly includes gaming consoles and smart devices like watches and TVs.

The OIT will continue to run Cmich GOLD and cmich_open until the end of the Spring 2020 semester so students can make the switch to the new network when they have the time.
