Micaela Kelly wins third consecutive Player of the Week honor
For the third week in a row, junior guard Micaela Kelly has been named the Player of the Week in the Mid-American Conference's West Division.
Kelly, a Detroit native, earned the honor following a two-game stretch in which she totaled 56 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
She shot 56% from the field and hit 11 triples in just the two contests. On the year, Kelly is averaging 23.6 points per game, which ranks top-5 nationally.
Kelly has scored in double figures in every game this season, highlighted by a career-high 38-point effort at South Dakota State on Dec. 14.
She's averaging career highs in every statistic including points, field goal percentage and 3-point percentage.
She shot 56% from the field and hit 11 triples in just the two contests. On the year, is averaging 23.6 points per game, which ranks top-5 nationally before falling at Central Florida, 64-58.
Kelly will look to continue her torrid start to the season when the Chippewas take the court next in a road contest at Akron, which signifies the start of conference play.
