Central Michigan defensive back Darius Bracy watches from the sidelines as his teammates practice for the New Mexico Bowl Dec. 17 at the Indoor Athletics Complex at CMU.

When Central Michigan takes the field on Saturday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, it will be without two of their starting defensive backs.

Junior cornerback Darius Bracy will miss his fourth consecutive contest while true freshman cornerback Kyron McKinnie-Harper will be forced out of action for the second time this season due to injury.

First-year coach Jim McElwain declined to elaborate on the specifics of their injuries.

Redshirt freshman Montrae Braswell has started in place of Bracy in each of the last three contests and will likely do so in the New Mexico Bowl. On the opposite side, the Chippewas could feature a pair of sophomores in Brandon Brown and Norman Anderson.

Also in the mix is junior college transfer Dishon McNary, should he be deemed eligible when fall semester grades are posted Friday.

McElwain also noted that junior tight end Tony Poljan is questionable. He said Poljan played through a foot injury in the Chippewas' 26-21 Mid-American Conference championship game loss to Miami (Ohio).

Should Poljan be unable to play, the Chippewas will turn to the tandem of sophomore Bernhard Raimann and redshirt freshman Joel Wilson, who is coming off his first appearance since Week 1.

Raimann and Wilson have combined for 10 catches on the season.

The Chippewas take on San Diego State in the New Mexico Bowl at 2 p.m. Saturday.
