2020 WR Ke'Andre Collins commits to Central Michigan

When Sarasota High School wide receiver Ke'Andre Collins visited Central Michigan this past weekend, the 2020 prospect felt at home.
The coaching staff and players made Collins feel comfortable, and after a quick evaluation, he committed Monday morning to play for the Chippewas.
"I like the campus a lot, and their dorms were great," Collins said.
The 5-foot-9, 155-pound wide receiver, who also played defensive back at his school in Florida, turned down offers from Coastal Carolina, Bryant, Southern Miss, West Virginia State, St. Thomas University, Western Illinois and Tennessee Tech.
Wide receivers coach Kevin Barbay spoke with Collins and offered him Oct. 10. He was also recruited by linebackers coach Mark DeBastiani.
"We talked a lot throughout the visit," Collins said of his relationship with Barbay. "We talked about the different plays they run."
First-year coach Jim McElwain was also influential selling Central Michigan's program.
"He's honestly a great guy, and I want to play for him because he's real and honest to all the players," Collins said. "He genuinely cares for everyone, including the coaches. He has a lot of coaching experience, and that's great to have."
The early signing period runs from Dec. 18-20, and Collins plans to sign his letter of intent at that time.
"I want to lock in my spot," Collins said. "I don't want to wait to sign because this is where I'm meant to be."
