Students and faculty to compete in eighth annual Dance United competition
Community members are lacing up their dancing shoes and take the stage in a friendly fundraising competition Friday for the eighth annual Dance United competition.
Dance United 2019 takes place 6-9 p.m. Nov. 8 in McGuirk Arena. Competing teams of Central Michigan University students, faculty, staff and members of the community are participating in a dance contest to raise funds for their cause.
Some of the teams involved include PEAK, an after school & summer day camp program for Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, Officer Laura Martinez of CMU Police, and RISE, a national women's aid service.
General admission and VIP tickets can be purchased by calling Ticket Central at (989) 774-3045 or stopping by McGuirk Arena between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
General admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for CMU students and youth (17 and under). VIP tickets are $40 and include access to the “Star Lounge,” which will feature hors d'oeuvres, silent auction items, live music, networking, and premier reserved seating for the show.
Dance United has raised more than $200,000 in donations since 2012.
