Drew Hildebrandt earns MAC Wrestler of the Week honors
Drew Hildebrandt, a junior on the Central Michigan wrestling team, was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week.
Hildebrandt, a Granger, Indiana native, is 10-1 this year and ranks 11th nationally in the 125-pound weight class.
At last Sunday’s Black Knight Invitational, Hildebrandt won his weight class and went 3-0 through the tournament. He did not allow his opponent to score a point in the first two wins.
Out of eight teams Sunday, the Chippewas finished third scoring 107.5 points behind eventual winner Army (140) and top-ranked Penn State (127.5).
Next up, the Chippewas travel to Michigan for their Nov. 24 dual-meet opener. The match begins at 2 p.m. in Cliff Keen Arena.
