Two volleyball juniors named to All-MAC First Team

Junior outside hitter Kalina Smith and junior middle blocker Lisbeth Rosario-Martinez were selected to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team.
Smith's team-best 346 kills placed her seventh-best in the conference, and her 3.43 kills per set tied her for third place in the conference. She finished the regular season with a career-high .180 hitting percentage and nearly tripled her career-high in digs with 307.
In her first year with the Chippewas, Rosario-Martinez finished fourth in the conference in hitting percentage with a .352 clip. She recorded 249 kills, placing her second behind Smith, and led the team in aces with 33.
The Chippewas finished the season 21-7. Their 10-5 record in the MAC earned them a share of the MAC West division title for the first time since 2003.
The Chippewas are the No. 2 seed in the MAC Tournament, which runs from Nov. 21-24. They will first take the court at 7 p.m. Saturday against either Bowling Green, Akron or Buffalo.
