Police name woman killed in crash on Isabella Road

Police have identified the 19-year-old woman who was killed in a fatal crash on Isabella Road Wednesday.
Megan Richarson, of Clare, died in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the three-way intersection of Isabella Road and Blue Grass Road, according to a news release issued by Michigan State Police.
Police responded to the crash at 11:15 a.m., and Isabella Road was partially closed for several hours as authorities investigated.
Richardson was driving east on Blue Grass Road in a 2007 Hyundai Elantra passenger car when she drove into the path of a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck southbound on Isabella Road, police said.
MSP Lt. Todd Parsons said she was the sole occupant of the Hyundai Elantra, and she was transported to McLaren Central Michigan where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 19-year-old Mount Pleasant man, and two adult passengers sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by MSP. Parsons said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
MSP was assisted at the scene by MMR Ambulance, Mount Pleasant Fire Department, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Department and the Isabella County Sheriff's Office.
