Max & Emily's announces performers for 11th annual Summer Concert Series
Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers will kick off the series June 20
Max and Emily's will feature local bands and nationally-recognized artists at its 11th annual Summer Concert Series.
Max and Emily's Eatery announced the series lineup in a Facebook post on May 9. All shows open with local talent at 6 p.m. and headliners take the stage at 7 p.m.
Thursday, June 20
CMU alumni band Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers will headline the show. The band has performed at Bonnaroo and Electric Forest music festivals and headlined a show at Red Rocks in Colorado. Mount Pleasant preteen DJ Dill Pickle will open the show.
Thursday, Aug. 1
Detroit native Joshua Davis will headline the first show in August. Davis has released five albums since 2005 and made it to the top three on the 2015 season of The Voice. Max and Emily's team member and CMU graduate Danny McQuarters will open.
Thursday, Aug. 8
Classic Rock artist Willie Nile will perform in the Summer Concert Series for the first time this August. Nile has performed with Bruce Springsteen and toured with The Who. Midland singer-songwriter Mio Bischoff is opening.
Thursday, Aug. 15
Summer Concert Series staple Brian Vander Ark. He has performed all but one summer with a variety of different acts. Sometimes he performs solo, and other times performs with friends or with the band The Verve Pipe.
Saturday, Aug. 24
The Summer Concert Series will conclude with a performance from The Paddlebots, which was formed at CMU. This will be the second year the band performs in the series. CMU professor band Daryl and the Beans will open.
