The Central Michigan University Office of Information Technology will host the Women, Technology and Leadership Conference March 13 from 2-5 p.m. in the Bovee University Center Rotunda.

The conference is open to all CMU students, regardless of gender, who are interested in practicing networking, creating connections and progressing their career in technology.

"It is a great opportunity for students to make connections and get career advice," said project manger Carla Budinsky.

There will be a panel featuring 4-5 executive women who have professional experience and have held a wide range of technology and leadership positions, and they will discuss their careers in an engrossing manner. There will also be more professionals present in the audience available for networking.

Following the panel, there will be a catered event where students are able to network with at least three panelists or attendees. During this event students can enter for an opportunity to win one of a plethora of prizes, including scholarships.

"I’m passionate about encouraging women who are interested in a career in technology and organizing this event is my favorite project," Budinsky said. "It is so inspiring to see CMU students learn, be encouraged, and expand the realm of their own possibilities from successful leaders in corporate America."

Sign-in for the conference starts at 1:45 p.m. and the discussions will commence at 2:15 p.m.
