Dance Minor Showcase to take place Saturday in Plachta Auditorium
The fourth annual Dance Minor Showcase at Central Michigan University will take place 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in Plachta Auditorium.
The performance will consist of 17 CMU dance minors performing contemporary ballet, contemporary jazz and modern dance.
“The performances are a mixture of solos, duets, and group works,” said Dance Program Coordinator Heather Trommer-Beardslee. “Every piece except for one dance was choreographed by CMU dance minors.”
Trommer-Beardslee said the dance minors have been preparing for the performance since September.
The event will be approximately 45 minutes long, and it usually attracts an audience of 5-600 people.
Seating is general admission and doors will open at 7:00 p.m.
The performance is free and open to the public.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to see the talent of CMU's dance students,” Trommer-Beardslee said. “From choreography to performance, the 2018 Dance Minor Showcase will highlight the incredible work that our dance students have accomplished.”
