Multicultural Advancement and Cofer Scholars to host drag show fundraiser
First Year Experience Multicultural Advancement and Cofer Scholars will host a Charity Drag Show in from 8-11 p.m. Dec. 7 in Kulhavi 141/142 in order to inform students about LGBTQ+ poverty and its effects on youth in our society.
There will be nine drag queens performing. Tickets cost $2 at the door and Cash App is a viable method of payment. All ticket proceeds benefit the True Colors fund, a nonprofit organization that aims to educate about the LGBTQ+ community and homelessness.
"(The fundraiser is expected to be a) fun, interactive experience for many people to enjoy while also providing information about the LGBTQ+ community and how poverty has affected the community” said event coordinator freshman Edwin Williamson.
Tips are highly encouraged in support of the drag queens' work.
