Speak Up, Speak Out: Midterm Elections forum to be held Oct. 23
Expert panelists will discuss the importance of the upcoming midterm elections
Midterm elections are fast approaching, and a discussion hosted by Speak Up, Speak Out will cover their importance from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 23 in Bovee University Center Auditorium.
Speak Up, Speak Out: The Central Michigan University Student Forum hosts several event series that cover current events and topics in an open forum setting.
The event includes a panel of student and faculty experts, who will lead an engaging discussion about why the midterm elections are important, along with who and what they may impact. The panel will feature representatives from College Republicans and Democrats, along with other experts.
Issues on the economy, healthcare, immigration, environment, and reproductive rights will be covered during the event. Those who attend are encouraged to share their thoughts on these various subjects.
“We ask the audience to come prepared to engage the panel (with) questions on why the election is important, and to share their own views,” Speak Up, Speak Out Co-Chairman Samuel Raisanen said.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the College of Communication and Fine Arts and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
