Program Board to host Christopher Robin: Build a teddy bear event
For some students, the colorful characters of Winnie the Pooh represent everything warm and sweet about childhood.
That’s why the Central Michigan University Program Board will host a screening of the 2018 film "Christopher Robin" at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in Pearce 127. In addition to the film, the first 50 students to arrive will have the opportunity to stuff their own teddy bear.
“One of the things that inspired the event is bringing out the kid in everyone,” Program Board Film Director Lee Ringlever said. “A lot of us grew up watching Winnie the Pooh cartoons and this event reminds us of the childhood that’s inside all of us.”
With a movie and teddy bear giveaway, Program Board aims to provide students with a break from adulthood.
“Walking away with a bear -- there’s just something about stuffed animals,” Ringlever said. “I think everyone at some point in their life had an object or stuffed animal that meant a lot to them. We all have something that reminds us of our innocence and happiness and that’s not necessarily something that can be easily stripped away from you.”
The Christopher Robin: Build teddy bear event is free and open to the public. Supplies are limited.
