Mount Pleasant's citywide garage sale to return June 22-23
The Mount Pleasant citywide garage sale begins on June 22-23.
For the past 15 years, Mount Pleasant has conducted a citywide garage sale every June, allowing residents to sell their unwanted items without registering through the city.
The event is open to everyone and will last all day Friday and Saturday. There is no set time the event begins or ends, as it is up to each individual seller as far as when they will begin their own garage sale.
The manager of the event, Linda Colburn, estimates that approximately 120 garage sales take place during the citywide sale.
“I think garage sales are the best way to recycle old and unused things and make a little money,” said Colburn.
Colburn has been managing the citywide sales since 2003 and is looking for someone new to take her place.
“With the right advertisement and marketing skills, I think the garage sales could drive more people to town and could really unify the community,” said Colburn.
