Two men arrested by police with guns-drawn after fight downtown
Two men were arrested by police with weapons drawn by the Mount Pleasant Police Department after a fight broke out and a gun fell to the ground on March 17.
The gun belonged to a 24-year-old Suttons Bay man who started the fight outside The Bird Bar and Grill with a 35-year-old Mount Pleasant man.
The man did not brandish or raise the weapon but it fell to the ground during the fight, Officer Jeff Browne of the MPPD said.
The Suttons Bay man left with a group of people and was found by police searching the downtown area in front of Rubbles Bar, about a block away from The Bird Bar and Grill.
Police approached with weapons drawn because they knew someone might have had a gun and searched the group, Browne said.
The weapon belonging to the Suttons Bay man was found on another 28-year-old Frankfort man in the group.
Both men were arrested and face charges for illegally carrying concealed weapons, while the Suttons Bay man also faces an assault and battery charge.
