Report: Football hires new offensive coordinator, running backs coach
After losing both its offensive coordinator and running backs coach in less than a month, the Central Michigan football team has reportedly filled those positions.
According to coachingsearch, the Chippewas hired Northern Michigan head coach Chris Ostrowsky as their new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Ostrowsky was the head coach for NMU the past five seasons. He led the team to an 18-36 record during his tenure. The Wildcats finished last season 3-8 and ranked eighth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in total offense.
Ostrowsky's hire comes weeks after offensive coordinator Gino Guidugli departed to be the running backs coach at Cincinnati.
Guidugli was promoted to offensive coordinator in late December after spending four seasons as Central Michigan's running backs coach. He was set to replace former offensive coordinator Morris Watts, who had called plays since 2011.
The Chippewas also added former Indiana State running backs Jayden Everette to the same position. Everette coached at ISU for the past four seasons.
Former CMU running backs coach Nick Sheridan left for his alma mater, Indiana in early February after accepting the position in January.
The Chippewas' Spring Game is scheduled for April 22.
