Rapid Reaction: Central Michigan 195.775 Kent State 195.675


The Central Michigan gymnastics team defeated rival Kent State 195.775 to 195.675 Sunday posting their highest team score of the season.

Uneven Bars:

The Chippewas posted a season high on bars with a total score of 49.150. The individual high came from sophomore Kasey Janowicz and junior Bryttany Kaplan who both posted a 9.875.

After the first rotation the Chippewas led Kent State 49.150 to 48.925. CMU moved onto vault while Kent State moved to the uneven bars.

Vault:

CMU came out strong on vault posting a 48.975. The high came from freshman Denelle Pedrick who posted a 9.875 a high for either team. 

Following the second rotation the Chippewas would lead Kent State 98.125 to 97.975. Central Michigan would then move onto the floor routine. Kent State advanced to the balance beam.

Floor Routine:

The Chippewas remained consistent on the floor as they posted a 49.225. The high score came from junior captain Katy Clements. Clements posted a 9.900.

The Chippewas advanced to finish on beam and Kent State would finish on the floor. The Chippewas led 147.350 to 146.525 heading into the final rotation.

Balance Beam:

The Chippewas finished on beam. The team was led by Clements once again posting a meet high 9.925. The finished with a score on beam of 48.425.

CMU returns home to play host to Bowling Green next Sunday at 1:00 pm in McGuirk Arena.
