Vollleyball picks up first win in two weeks

After losing three straight matches against Kent State, Miami and Bowling Green, Central Michigan volleyball won its first match in over two weeks Friday against Buffalo 3-2. 

CMU took the Bulls to five sets before winning 15-13 in the final set. It marked the fifth time this season the Chippewas have been forced to play to the fifth set.

Now 9-12 overall and 3-6 in the Mid-American Conference, CMU sits at the fourth spot in the MAC West Division and eighth overall in the conference. 

Of the the 64 kills recorded on the night by the Chippewas, junior Jordan Bueter accounted for 26 kills. Sophomore Laura Wilson also pitched in with 13 kills.

CMU travels to Akron on Saturday for a 5 p.m. match against the Zips. Akron enters Saturday as the worst team in the MAC, boasting a 0-8 conference record.
