CMU soccer picked to win MAC Tournament by coaches
After tallying a 6-10-3 record and being eliminated in the quarter finals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament last season, the Central Michigan women's soccer team received three votes Monday to win the 2016 MAC Tournament by the league's coaches.
In addition to CMU, Ball State and Kent State were also given three votes. Buffalo received two votes and Northern Illinois snagged one. CMU rivals Western Michigan won the tournament in 2015.
CMU only received one vote out of 12 to win the MAC West division. The other 11 votes went to Ball State, who only lost three games all of last year and are returning 14 players.
The MAC East predictions are more scattered. Kent State and Miami (Oh) received five votes while Buffalo received two.
The Chippewas begin their season in Pennsylvania on Friday against Duquesne.
