Pathway in central campus partially blocked off due to construction
A main walkway in central campus was partially blocked off Friday as the Isabella Corporation worked on a plugged sewage pipe causing backups in Park Library and Brooks Hall.
The broken pipe outside of Brooks Hall near the building's southern entrance resulted from a tree root balling up inside the pipe, causing it to be backed up.
John Zalud, project foreman, said the project is expected to be finished by Saturday afternoon.
"Seeing how orientation isn't going on today (Friday) or tomorrow, we are hoping to get it done today," Zalud said. "By doing that, we don't have to shut down the bathrooms at Brooks Hall or at the Library while orientation is going on."
The pipe is currently unclogged and Zalud said his team is now fixing remaining damaged pipes.
