Fitzpatrick earns MAC Gymnastics Specialist of the Week Award
Junior Caroline Fitzpatrick matched a career high with a 9.9 on the balance beam March 10 at Eastern Michigan, earning her Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Specialist of the Week honors.
Her 9.9 score placed her in first on the balance beam and was the best performance on any event all evening. The Connecticut native has scored a 9.9 on beam for the past two meets.
Head Coach Jerry Reighard refers to Fitzpatrick as their "rock" on the balance beam event for her consistent scores. With the help of her scores, the balance beam is one of CMU's best events.
Nationally, CMU's balance beam team is tied with Utah State for 30th in the country with an average team score of 48.689.
The Chippewas travel to Muncie, Indiana this Saturday for the MAC Championships at 2 p.m.
