Angie White sidelined with right ankle injury
Central Michigan's volleyball team will be without the services of senior middle blocker Angie White for an unstated amount of time due to a right ankle injury.
White suited up, but did not play in the Chippewas 3-1 win over Akron Friday night. The senior was on the sideline with a walking boot on her right leg.
Assistant Head Coach Theresa Beeckman said she made the decision to sit White earlier on Friday. Beeckman did not specify on the severity of the injury, but did say the 6-foot-2 senior has been bothered by it 'off and on' throughout the season.
"We just wanted to take this opportunity, to see if we can't get (White) a little bit more healthy going down the stretch," Beeckman said.
A timetable for White's return has not been set, and sophomore Paige Carey will continue to start in her absence.
White leads the Chippewas in total blocks with 79, and solo blocks with 14 on the season. The Detroit native also led CMU in blocks during the 2014 campaign.
